Tip: Endoscopic Camera Fun!
I'm always on the lookout for weird, cheap stuff that can be used in interesting, filmmaking ways. My latest find was a $5 endoscopic USB camera on eBay. This small camera lives at the end of a USB cable that plugs into your computer. It's water-proof and has four tiny LEDs that flank the camera, and illuminate anything directly in front of the lens. Made for inspecting drains and other tight spaces, this thing has to have some good filmmaking applications, right?
Now to be totally fair, this is a very cheap camera. It shoots grainy, soft, jittery, 4:3, standard definition video, that uses an auto-iris, so video levels are all over the place. You also must be connected to a PC (or Android phone for a more portable setup), which limits what you can really do with this thing.
Aside from creating some strange POV stuff (see the video), one very practical application here is pre-visualization, or pre-viz. This is the process of creating a quick and dirty version of your film using action figures or toys to create a "living storyboard" of what your actual film is supposed to look like. It can also help show how you want to create a complicated sequence in the cheapest way possible.
Whatever you decide to do with this gizmo, your mileage may vary. It's a cheap tool that may come in more handy than you think. And you really can't go wrong for the price.

This activity was provided by Débora Marquat. Thank you, Deby, for sharing. I am sure readers will profit a lot from it.
“Hey there! I'm Deby, a passionate English teacher who loves being creative to prepare fun, entertaining and productive classes for my dear students.”

5) List 3 things that are true about you and 3 things that aren’t, from task 3:
Example: I live in a castle. I don’t hate squirrels.
6) Talk to your classmates and ask them about the activities from task 3.
Example: A> Do you go to work everyday? / B> Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
Make a list with:
3 things that apply to someone > Example: Maria is very cute.
3 things that don’t apply to someone > Example: Paula doesn’t talk to his friends.
3 things you share in common with someone > Example: Ricardo and I eat a lot.
Our frequent contributor, Pedro Urbano, suggested/added these tasks to the lesson plan. Thanks, Pedro, once again, for such a precious addition.
I just loved the activity. If you may, I adapted to class rotation and I would like to share how I did after they completed the exercise 3.
Class rotation
Speaking activities
You can split the class in four big groups after they complete the worksheet (The secret life of Pets), exercise 3. Each group perfoms a different activity. They should perform in 5 minutes. Here are some suggestions of activities:
Station 1
Ss ask the group which animal does a specific activity.
A: Who plays videogames?
B: It’s _______________
Station 2
Ss ask the group Yes-No Questions related to the activities given on the worksheet (The secret life of Pets). If necessary, they must add a time expression.
A: Do you play video games in the morning?
B: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.
A: Does your _________ like massage?
B: Yes, He does. / No, He doesn’t.
Station 3
True or False?
One student says a true or false sentence about the worksheet (The secret life of Pets). The group must agree or correct the sentence.
A: Max likes massage.
B: No, It’s ________
A: Max waits for someone.
B: That’s correct.
Station 4
2 true facts and 1 lie about you.
A student says three sentences for the group about him/herself. He/She can use the sentences from the exercise 3 of the worksheet (The secret life of Pets) to describe about him or her. Two sentences are true and one is false. The group should guess which sentence is a lie. They have only two chances.
After 5 minutes, the groups change station; they change the activity. Make them try the four activities. It really works.
